A fun + feminine brand that puts the spotlight on hand lettering.
Erin of ECLetters is a talented calligrapher who came to me in need of a brand refresh. She wanted to create a cohesive and consistent brand presence. One that helps her stand out with immediate recognition, and one that sprinkles "hand-lettered happiness" to whomever comes across one of her brand touchpoints!
The brand keywords we landed on were: Fun, feminine, pretty, playful, bright, cheerful, bubbly, peppy, positive.
I love the mood board we came up with together. A bright spectrum of springtime colors meets handlettering, handmade touches, sweet details, and fun flourishes.
We kept the existing lettering of her original logo, and sparkled it up a bit. Looking at it just makes my day brighter—which is EXACTLY the feeling we were going for! The "Hand-Lettered Happiness" tagline encompasses Erin's mission: to use calligraphy to spread joy.
The brand style has a handmade feel, but it's still modern and fresh with lots of ways to accent Erin's beautiful hand lettering.
One of my favorite parts of Erin's branding is the icon set. I designed 16 custom icons that she can use on her website, in her Etsy shop, on social media, and all across her digital and printed materials. How fun are they?
We also came up with two custom patterns – watercolor dots and a fun flourish pattern – as well as a juicy pink texture that will work beautifully for backgrounds. Along with sprinkles and splatters and more, my hope is Erin will have a million ways to mix and match her new branding.

What do you do?
I’m a calligrapher! I do wedding and event calligraphy, sell hand-lettered goods in my Etsy shop, and teach classes.
Why did you want a new visual brand?
I wanted to more cohesively represent my business to present myself more professionally, while still staying true to the fun, feminine, playful, cheerful vibe that I strive to give off.
What was your favorite part of the branding process?
Seeing all the creative things that Jenna came up with! I loved seeing what she did to translate my goals and key words into awesome visuals!
What was the most challenging part of the branding process?
Choosing a font for my logo, lol! So many choices, but what we landed on is absolutely perfect!
How did you feel before we started working together?
I felt like I was struggling to have a visually appealing and cohesive brand on social media and my website. I spent a lot of time trying things that just didn’t really work and looked amateur.
How do you feel now that your new brand has launched?
I feel like my brand is so much more cohesive and recognizable. I have so many elements that I can use in a million different ways, and that is exactly what I needed!
Did we achieve the look and feel you were going for?
Yes!
What's your favorite part of your new brand?
I truly love everything! I think my favorite part(s) are my icons (they are so fun!) and my ECL / flourish pattern. That is something I would have never thought up but it just fits so perfectly! I loved working with you and am OBSESSED with the final product! Thank you!!
