True story: I weaseled my way into being Creative Director at Here Comes The Guide after doing an undercover rebrand + redesign of our website, and surprise-presenting it to our CEO.

Once she loved the design (phew!) and gave me the green light to actually implement it, I figured it was about time I legitimize my “design hobby” and do the damn thang for real.

Par for the course when you're a military wife. I'm a born-and-bred California girl living in Annapolis, Maryland. I went from the San Francisco Bay to the Chesapeake Bay!

Luckily I can take my job with me wherever I go—and I want to empower other women to do the same!

Two, to be exact. They keep me active, laughing, always on my toes, and forever teetering on the brink of insanity. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. 

I also have a big, slobbery Bullmastiff named Tyson. Another boy. And along with my husband I’m completely outnumbered. Which is probably why I’m so drawn to feminine designs.

We’ve been dating for over 20 years and married for over 10. We’ve made it through high school drama, college life, military deployments, a cross-country move, babies, a dog, and all manner of twists and turns. We’ve grown up together, and continue to grow together. 

And I’m still sweet on him.

J.E.M are my initials. I wanted my company name to be personal, but I also wanted it to reflect my ideal client (you!). She’s a gem—we just need to sparkle up her branding a bit so she can really shine online. 

Plus, I’m truly outrageous. (If you didn’t get that reference I feel old.)

Because I'm passionate about empowering female entrepreneurs. If the only thing standing between you and your career goals is a professional brand and website, I'm here to knock that wall down. Allow me to help you level up your business or kick start your 'hobby' so you can turn it into a legit revenue stream.

I’m a complete web marketing nerd. I’ve worked in the digital marketing world since 2009 and have worn ALL the hats. I have a ton of experience with SEO, copywriting, email marketing, social media strategy, and graphic design. I read web marketing blogs and listen to business podcasts for fun. I’m a real hoot at parties.

Yes your brand will be pretty; but I don’t stop there. I've got the skills to partner that pretty with powerful strategy, expertly-edited copy, and a fully-optimized website that not only catches the attention of your ideal clients, but also ranks on Google and actually converts viewers into clients.

Listen, I understand the hesitation. It's difficult to launch and grow a business. It’s an emotional rollercoaster with a mile-long to-do list and a side of self doubt. Do you really need to invest in a brand + website? Isn’t social media and word of mouth enough?

I strongly believe having a polished visual brand, strategic messaging, and a website that’s primed to convert is a HUGE part of whether or not your business will thrive. Your website will work for you 'round the clock, will build trust and credibility with potential clients, and will show up in relevant Google searches. Those pesky social media algorithms can kick rocks.

I’m not gonna sugar coat it—you’ll need to put in work. But I promise it’ll be fun, streamlined, and you’ll come out on the other side knowing your brand, business, and ideal client like the back of your hand. You’ll be responsible for completing an in-depth questionnaire, pinning on Pinterest, providing basic website copy, and website photos. And I’ll rely heavily on you to stick to our agreed-upon timelines!

Beyond that I’ll bring the coffee, you bring the wine, and we’ll have a blast tackling this project together.

Everything looks SO SO good and professional and just perfect for this organization. And, that said, I’m kinda heartbroken we're finished because this has been SO MUCH FUN. Can we do it again sometime?
